Tomorrow's the last day for responding to Surrey County Council's bus review. Spurred by having to save millions of pounds out of a rocketing bus subsidy budget, county have already reviewed what they're doing elsewhere in Surrey and now it's our turn.
I think South Farnham is reasonably well served by buses during the day (not brilliant but better than most) but suffers on Sundays and evenings. I have responded by saying that the No 19 which goes through the Bourne must stay as an hourly service, not every two hours as has been mooted, and the valued No 16 mustn't be reduced either.
I get lots of emails and calls about many other local matters but nothing on this review. I know that people value their buses because, when punctuality dips for any reason I get asked to help sort it out - and thank you to Surrey's bus team for keeping on top of the service. I have to take this as an indication that there's general satisfaction with what's provided at the moment and that residents don't perceive there's a real threat. But, as always, I'll try to keep on top of it.
